After court,
we take a stroll down Chancery Lane. This short street is has been at the
heart of the law since 1072. In the buildings on this
street - the Royal Courts, the Law Society, the inns of court, the law firms-originated most of the rights we take for granted: jury trial, right to
counsel, right to remain silent, presumption of innocence, the rule against hearsay, and on and on.
